With the 2009-2010 campaign season beginning this Friday for the middle school team, many were anxious to get under way with the start of the club's first season at Tier I. Dominating throughout this past spring season, the middle school Patriots, under head coach Chuck Acri, took on Hershey 2 Friday with high hopes of defeating the Trojans.
And that they did.
In an 11-2 win over Hershey, the Patriots quick offense and sturdy defense held the Trojans scorless until late in the second period. Goaltender Devon Foutz made several nice saves in his first game as a Patriot and in ice hockey in general.
The middle school squad looks to carry their success into this Sunday when they take on Dallastown, a team they faced this past spring league.
