Last Sunday, October 25th, the middle school team faced a preseason opponent, the Dallastown Wildcats, in their second game of this 2009-2010 season. Hopes were high for the squad, just coming off of an 11-2 win over Hershey 2. Their speedy offense and indominatable defense all backed by a doughty force between the posts weren't a match for the Wildcats as the Patriots skated off to an 12-6 win over D-Town.
Brett Gummo seemed to be an unstoppable force, scoring tally after tally, often times undefended, as a result of his determined attitude. Zak Werner can also illustrate the results of perseverance, scoring his first of the season on a shot from the slot. The rookies are also making their footprint on the team, with new goaltender Devon Foutz staying strong, making key saves to keep his team in it. With an 11.5 GFA, the squad is surely successful in putting the puck in the net, and with an effective breakout and quick passing which stems from quality teamwork, the task becomes simple. |
